Daughter-in-law withdraws case against MLA
By: Tupaki Desk | 17 July 2013 5:46 PM GMTFormer minister and Secunderabad containment MLA Shankar Rao's daughter-in-law Vamsi Priya on Wednesday withdrew the Dowry Harassment cases she has filed against her husband and others in the family. She filed a petition in AP High Court in this regard.
It may be recalled that Shankar Rao was arrested by the Central Crime Station police because of the dowry case filed by his daughter-in-law. As he fell ill soon after he was taken into the custody, the MLA was shifted to a private hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Earlier, Vamsi Priya filed a writ petition in AP High Court seeking the arrest of her husband Shashank, father-in-law Shankar Rao, mother-in-law Vishwa Shanti and sister-in-law Sushmita for allegedly harassing her for dowry and treating her in an inhuman way.
It is learnt that Shankar Rao's family has preferred an out of court settlement as the loud-mouthed politician is facing several health issues and his condition might deteriorate if he was sent behind bars. Finally, the controversial MLA got a relief in one case.
