By: Tupaki Desk | 16 Nov 2021 10:58 AM GMTLeft-handed batsman David Warner was back in form, thanks to the T20 World Cup. With his back-to-back crucial knocks, he played his part in the Australian team lifting its maiden T2o WC trophy. The 35-year-old was the man of the tournament for his performance. He is on cloud nine for the historic movement.
After his World Cup heroics, David Warner had opened up on the fallout with the Sunrisers Hyderabad team and said he was hurt with what had happened with him in the IPL tournament. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the developments.
Speaking about the infamous row, David Warner said getting dropped from a team that had a long association even after the efforts that went in and the support the fans are giving will hurt a player. I don't have any complaints. Players play the game to entertain the fans, he said.
Adding further, David Bhai, as fondly called by the SRH fans said, he couldn't understand why he could not find a place in the final squad for the team even after putting so much effort in the nets to practice. He wishes that he would get another opportunity to play for SRH.
Giving an insight into how he was dealing with the things, David Warner said, being removed as the captain without any proper explanation had come as a rude shock to him given the fact that he had led the team in more than 100 matches. Talking about form, Warner said, he had a few bad games, and losing a spot in the team had hurt him.
David Warner had a tough IPL season in the 2021 edition as he was dropped from the team and the Sunrisers Hyderabad management had also stripped his captaincy and made Kane Williamson the skipper. Even the SRH fans were not happy with the decisions the management took. He was played in just two matches in the second half of IPL.
David Warner is the lucky charm for SRH. The franchise had won only one IPL trophy that too under David Warner's captaincy. In 2016, he led the team to lift the trophy and bagged an orange cap for his terrific form.
