By: Tupaki Desk | 30 July 2015 12:11 PM GMTIn an interview given to India Today in August 1994 (post the Mumbai serial blasts), India's most wanted and the prime accused in the case Dawood Ibrahim said he is happy that Yakub Memon has been arrested by the Indian government while crossing the border. He claims to be innocent and no role to play in 1993 Mumbai blasts.
Responding on the charges leveled against him by Mumbai police, Dawood said he was made a scapegoat just because of the Sharad Pawar & BS Chavan's political feud. He claims to be at home when the Mumbai blasts happened and he was shocked when a man named 'Dawood Taklu' mentioned his name during the interrogation.
Dawood Ibrahim says he had neither met Yakub Memon nor have any contacts with him. He, however, admits having met Yakub's brother Tiger Memon several times.
During the coarse of interview, Dawood Ibrahim lost his cool many times. At one point, He dared the India Today Editor to bet with him when asked 'You can't travel like an ordinary person to other countries?' and then said 'Choose the place of your choice, I will meet you there'. He admits having good contacts in Dubai and frequently visits Pakistan.
