Underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim is known to be having business interests in betting, hawala transactions, real state, fake currency and money laundering.
Indian Intelligence Agencies have found out that Dawood Ibrahim's 'D Company' is currently focusing on conflict diamonds business in Africa and Dubai. With his contacts in countries such as Kenya, Zimbabwe and other countries, Dawood have been able to acquire the diamonds and smuggles them to Dubai. Mostly African women and young men are used as couriers to smuggle these diamonds on flights. Diamonds worth $5 to $10 lakh were smuggled into Dubai per each trip and the couriers were paid $10,000 for doing the job.
Conflict Diamonds are nothing but raw diamonds mined illegally. Usually, Militant Groups in African Countries such as Angola, Sierra Leone and Congo sell these diamonds. These conflict diamonds have got an another name 'Blood Diamonds' for contributing to the death of millions of civilians from the funds raised by them.
Dawood Ibrahim's Dubai based company is named as 'Al Noor Diamonds'. His Associate Feroze Oasis collects the diamonds in Dubai and processes them before placing them in the market.
