Days ahead of the 2021 edition of the IPL, the Delhi Capitals team faces a major setback with all-rounder Axar Patel testing positive for the Covid-19 virus. He went into isolation after testing positive.

For the upcoming IPL season, Axar Patel landed in the financial capital Mumbai on the 28th of March and checked into the team hotel. At the time of his arrival, Axar Patel has tested negative for Covid.

However, he tested positive when he underwent the Covid test for the second time. Following this, he is observing isolation. He will join the Delhi Capitals only after testing negative in the Covid test.

As per the protocols, Axar Patel will isolate himself for 10 days at a special isolation center and the team doctor will monitor his health regularly. Only after testing negative for the deadly virus, he will be permitted to join the team.

The all-rounder is the second IPL player to get exposed to the Coronavirus. Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Nitish Rana had tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.

The Delhi Capitala led by Young sensation Rishabh Pant will lock horns with the Yellow Army Chennai Super Kings on April 10 in its first match. Delhi Capital named Rishabh Pant as the skipper after Shreyas Iyer ruled out of IPL with an injury.
