While Chief Minister KCR is saying that development happened after the state was formed, the union government in Parliament said that the debts increased massively post-bifurcation. The Centre said that the debts have increased exponentially. It said as of 2022 October, the debts stood at Rs 4.33 lakh crores. Centre said the debts include the borrowings of corporations and public entities.

In a response to Congress MP Uttam Kumar Reddy's question, Minister of State for Finance of India Pankaj Choudhary gave a response in writing. He said that the debts taken by the state are increasing every year. The debts which stood at Rs 75,577 crores at the time of state bifurcation, they rose to Rs 2,83,452 crores, he said.

He said that the Government banks informed that they have given loans to Government agencies and Corporations. Pankaj Choudhary said that the Government corporations took a loan of Rs 1.50 lakhs from 12 banks while the government agencies took a loan of Rs 1.30 lakh crores.

The BRS leaders are alleging that the Centre is not giving any funds despite the state going through serious debts. They are also saying that the RBI, which is in the hands of the Centre, is not letting the state get funds. On the other hand, there is an opinion that CM KCR is diverting the funds given by the Centre. BJP is fuming about this and is saying that the funds are being diverted. The KCR government is facing tough situations with big funds for the schemes. It is said that it is trying to address at least some issues by using the funds. Sarpanches expressed their anger over the diversion of the 15th finance commission funds. So there is an opinion that the KCR government is diverting the funds.

The state Forest Department officials earlier said that the Central Rural Employment Guarantee funds were used for KCR's dream scheme Haritha Haram. KCR government reportedly used Rs 1479 crores from the employment scheme in three years. It is said that the KCR govt diverted Rs 5006.82 crores from 2014 to many schemes. There are a few allegations that the KCR government is traveling with the debts.
