Ayodhya Case - Just A Property Dispute!

Hindu Religious Bodies told the Supreme Court on Saturday that the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid issue in Ayodhya was only a property dispute. They maintained political and religious sensitivities can't be a reason to refer the matter to a larger bench.

Advocate Harish Salve said India has moved forward from the demolition incident in 1992 and it's now purely a land dispute. He didn't approve the projection of Ayodhya case as 'sensitive' and told either 'political or religious sensitive' must be left out of the court. Finally, Mr. Salve opined Court will make a decision based on evidence.

Whereas, Advocate Raju Ramachandaran who is appearing for Muslim bodies argued that the case should be referred to a larger bench considering its sheer importance. Next hearing of the case will be on May 15th.

In 2010, A 3-Member Bench of the Allahabad High Court passed the order to partition the land equally among three parties (Ram Lalla, Sunni Waqf Board, Nirmohi Akhara).
