The Indian cricket team led by skipper Virat Kohli will be touring in England for a Test series against the English team and the final of the Test Championship. The stalwarts like Rohit Sharma, Kohli, and others were part of the squad.

On the other hand, India’s second-string team will tour the island nation, Sri Lanka, for a T20 series and ODI series. The squad that tours in Sri Lanka is filled with young players and a few A players.

Since the tour was announced, a lot of discussion is going on about who will lead the team. Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya were part of the team and several former players are opting for Shikhar as the skipper for the tour.

Joining the force, young pacer Deepak Chahar, who plays for CSK in the IPL opined that Shikhar Dhawan can lead the team, given the experience he had over the years playing for the team.

"Shikhar bhai will be a good choice (for captain). He has been playing for a long time and has a lot of experience. For me, a senior person should become a captain. Because players see that player as a senior and respect him and obey him with honesty. Players should respect their captain. He (Dhawan) will be a good choice,” Chahar said, in an interview with a leading channel.
