Defence Ministry names Dhoni in Panel that Reviews NCC

Dhoni fans have one more thing to be happy about.
Thala Dhoni was included in the panel that was set up by the Defence Ministry. The panel aims at reviewing the National Cadet Corps (NCC). It has to be noted that Dhoni holds the Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army. He also underwent training with the Army. The rank was awarded to Dhoni following his heroics in the 2011 50 over World Cup.
The special panel will be led by former lawmaker Baijayant Panda. The panel comprises of people like Retired Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Rajya Sabha member Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Finance Ministry’s Sanjeev Sanyal, Najma Akhtar, Vasudha Kamat, Maj Gen (retd) Alok Raj, Anand Shah, Anand Mahindra.
The Defence Ministry had constituted the new panel to focus on strengthening the NCC cadets. The members of the panel will come up with measures so that the cadets can be empowered that enable the building of the nation.
The newly constituted panel will also focus on making the engagement of the National Cadet Corps(NCC) cadets better by bringing new practices into the Indian Armed Forces’ Youth Wing. The same measures will be added to the schedule of the NCC.
