Deficiency In Vitamin D Makes People Vulnerable To Pandemic!
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 July 2020 7:14 AM GMTIts been around four months since the ongoing pandemic hit the world and still, the researchers are finding it difficult to understand the deadly virus. With day passing, researchers are figuring out new symptoms of the virus.
Now, the Israeli researchers have come up with a new finding and said that deficiency in vitamin D levels makes a person more vulnerable to the ongoing pandemic.
The study was carried out by the researchers at the Leumit Health Services (LHS) in collaboration with the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine of Bar-Ilan University, Israel.
The outcome of the study is that vitamin D deficiency might result in people contacting the contagious disease as the low levels of vitamin D indicates the weakness.
The researcher who led the team opined that as much as 70 percent of the adults in the world suffer from vitamin D deficiency which makes them more vulnerable to the deadly virus.
To get accurate data on the link between lack of vitamin D and contacting the virus, the researchers conducted a study on 7,025 negative pandemic patients and 782 positive patients.
The researchers opined that low plasma vitamin D level appears to be the danger factor in contacting the virus and urge people to have food which improved the Vitamin D levels in the body.
