Delhi Govt Wants to Change Status Quo of Jurisdiction!

No matter who is in power in the national capital Delhi, the police and public servants' appointment lies in the hands of the Union government. As the Union Government is led by BJP and AAP is ruling in Delhi, both parties are having issues over the same for quite some time.
The issue of who gets to have jurisdiction had now reached the Supreme Court. As the Union Government is saying that Delhi is a key area and the World sees India through the national capitals it is important for the Centre to have jurisdiction.
On the other hand, the Delhi government is saying that it makes no sense in having ower when it cannot take a call on appointing and transferring the public servants. To change this status quo, the Delhi government moved the Supreme Court.
With the Delhi government approaching the Supreme Court, the Union government had reportedly asked the Apex Court to refer the jurisdiction issue to a five-judge bench. In a reply, the Supreme Court said that though the case is transferred, it will try to give the verdict by May 15.
It is interesting to see what the Supreme Court will say on the key and sensitive issue. The Union government having jurisdiction in the national capital has been going on for decades and the current Delhi government wants to change this. Only time can say what will happen.
