Delhi HC asks Centre for its response on FB and WhatsApp petitions!

The new IT rules brought by the Centre that made the social media giants lock horns with the government had reached the High Court in the national capital Delhi on Friday.
Facebook and WhatsApp have moved the Delhi High Court against the new IT rules saying that these rules violate the right to privacy.
Former Attorney-General for India Mukul Rohatgi had represented WhatsApp in the case in the High Court.
During the hearing, WhatsApp through Mukul Rohatgi had sought directives from the Court that rules and regulations on the traceability of the chats.
The bench of Delhi High Court that comprises Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh heard the petition and served notices to Centre to give its response in this regard.
While directing the Centre to give its opinion, the Delhi High Court had adjourned the next hearing to October 22.
