Modi Degree Row: DU Denies Details!

RTI Activists Anjali Bharadwaj, Nikhil Dey and Amrita Johri moved sought details about the Educational Qualification (1978 Batch BA Degree, DU) in Election Affidavit from Central Information Commission (CIC). Following which, CIC asked Delhi University to provide the necessary information.
Delhi University, however, denied information about Modi's degree it can't reveal information about its students. It even obtained a stay order from the Delhi High Court alleging Petitioners had moved the petition with vested interests.
Tushar Mehta who is the counsel of Delhi University told Delhi High Court that the records of students who pursued Bachelor of Arts in 1978 can't be disclosed. Still, HC issued notice on the intervention filed by RTI Activists.
In December 2016, Central Information Commissioner M Sridhar Acharyulu permitted the inspection of Delhi University's 1978 BA Degree Records based on the RTI Application moved by Neeraj. After passing this order, Mr.Sridhar was divested of the charge of Human Resource Development Ministry.
