Denial of Special Status: TDP moves to Plan B!
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 Aug 2015 5:08 AM GMTIn the wake of Union Government's disinterest in according Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh as per the promise made during the bifurcation, TDP Government shifted its focus to Plan B...i.e., seeking a Financial Package instead.
Just alike Bihar, AP Government might place the demand of Rs 50,000 crore package before Centre. The finance department is already working on the report that will be submitted to Union Finance Minister. Soon after his Turkey tour, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will meet Arun Jaitley to discuss about the alternatives for Special Category Status.
The Package would be divided into 3 Parts - Incentives from Centre, Financial Assitance to state-level projects such as Industrial Corridor, Metro Rail & Others, Reimbursement from Centre for the privileges offered by AP Government to Industries & SEZs.
