JD (S) Supremo HD Deve Gowda made it clear alliance with Congress is limited to the Vidhana Soudha (Karnataka Assembly), not in the Election. 'We are part of a coalition government but that doesn't mean JD (S) is for sale. I have the responsibility to ensure survival and victory of my party in election,' he commented during the road show after Kumaraswamy's swearing-in ceremony.
Election to Two Assembly Constituencies (Jayanagar, Rajarajeshwari Nagar) in Karnataka would be happening soon. JD (S) and Congress haven't reached an understanding on continuing the alliance in the election as well. So, They fielded their party candidates and began campaigning separately.
