Did Devineni Nehru make a wrong step?

Devineni Nehru joined Telugu Desam Party with the assurance given by party leadership on the posts. He demanded MLC seat for himself and Penamaluru MLA ticket for his son Avinash in 2019 Elections. TDP Chief agreed to both of these demands and hence entry of Nehru into the party has been smooth.
Upon joining TDP, Devineni Nehru regrets taking such a step as he wasn't given due respect. TDP Leaders haven't been extending invitation to him for the official programmes.
Actually, Devineni Nehru contested 2014 elections on Congress ticket from Vijayawada East Assembly constituency. He, however, got defeated by Gadde Rammohan Rao. This TDP Strongman isn't giving any scope for Devineni Nehru to grow as a power centre in the party, particularly in Krishna district. So, Neither he could adjust in the party nor go back to Congress which is already dubbed as sinking ship.
