The prevailing Coronavirus related situations in India have forced the Indian regulatory body Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA) to take a call on International flights.

Given the current conditions, the DGCA took to Twitter to share a notice on International flight services. The authority said the restrictions of flights will continue till Dec 31.

However, DGCA gave its nod to flights on some selected routes on a case-to-case basis. The restrictions will not apply for the international all-cargo operations and flights approved by DGCA.

Earlier, the DGCA restricted the International flights to and from India till the 30th of November. With the rise of Covid-19 infections in India, the regulatory body extended the restriction till December 31.

"In partial modification of circular dated 26.6.2020, the competent authority has further extended the validity of circular issued on the subject cited above regarding scheduled international commercial passenger services to/from India till 2359 hours (IST) of December 31, 2020," the circular issued by DGCA read.

The restrictions will also not apply for the flights operating under the Vande Bharat Mission. The flights under the bilateral 'air bubble' arrangements will also fly.

Since the Covid-19 outbreak, flight services were suspended in India. Back in July 2020, India formed air bubble arrangements with not less than 18 countries for flight services.
