Historian Ramachandra Guha who resigned as member of Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) on Thursday slammed 'Superstar Culture' in Indian cricket. He questioned, 'On what basis does Dhoni was given Grade A contract by BCCI inspite of his retirement to Test Cricket?'.

Ramachandra Guha complains conflict of interest issues has been unaddressed. Particularly, He objected BCCI permitting few National Coaches to be national duty for 10 months and work as coaches/mentors for IPL Teams for the remaining 2 Months. He accused BCCI of allowing former players who are famous to draft their own contract.

The Historian points out Commentators who entered into a contract with BCCI have been acting as player agents simultaneously. For example, He quotes Sunil Gavaskar is a commentator and a head of firm representing India Cricketers.

Alleging that the contract of Head Coach Anil Kumble wasn't handled properly though former leg spinner should be credited for excellent performance of Team India in the one year, Guha questioned, 'If there is any issue between Captain & Head Coach, why didn't BCCI address it soon after Australia series?'.

In his resignation letter, Guha recommended BCCI to appoint former Indian pacer Javagal Srinath in his place.
