Beauty Queen's Retort - CM's Apology!

Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb received backlash for passing disrespectful comments on 1997 Miss World title winner Diana Hayden. He dared to say Diana Hayden wasn't a representative of Indian Beauty. Mr.Deb told Miss World title for Diana Hayden is part of the marketing strategy to reach out to 125 crore Indians. At the same time, He opined Aishwarya Rai deserves 1994 Miss World title as she is a representative of Indian women.

The Beauty Queen has offered a strong retort to CM: 'It's a pity and shame that when you win the biggest and most respected beauty pageant in the world, you get criticised and put down as opposed to being appreciated and respected for bringing more accolades back home and further appreciation of our Indian brown exotic beauty. It's also hurtful'.

After his comments kicked up a storm, Tripura Chief Minister issued an apology to all those who were hurt with his comments. ''I regret...I respect all women as My Mother,' he said.
