Did a section in BJP try to run down Somu Veerraju?
By: Tupaki Desk | 13 Nov 2022 2:17 PM GMTIs a section within the BJP still sabotaging the diktats of Modi-Shah combine? Is this group behind the latest episode in which a section of the pro-TDP media has reported that Modi did not recognize AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju? The BJP strongly believes that this section, which is acting as a Trozan's Horse, has colluded with the media to spread misinformation.
BJP insiders say that Modi personally knows Somu Veerraju very well as he was the organizing secretary of the party for several years and has toured all parts of the country including Andhra Pradesh. He has personal friendship with leaders like Somu Veerraju and PVN Madhav as he had worked with them on several projects. In fact, Modi was part of some foreign tours of which Madhav and Somu were members.
Yet, the section that is protecting the interests of the TDP in the BJP has spread this rumour, argue several BJP leaders. They say that Modi has phenomenal memory and remembers even minutest of the details about individuals and organization. There is no question of Modi not recognizing Somu Veerraju, they argue.
A group of BJP leaders, who feel that the party should align with the TDP in the 2024 elections, are said to be leaving no opportunity to show Veerraju in poor light as he is being seen as the biggest stumbling block to the TDP-BJP alliance. The media stories, they argue, are concocted and not just true.
