TDP Leadership had the track record of delaying the announcement of Party Candidates till the last few days. This time, Chandrababu Naidu contemplated on announcing 100 Candidates in the last week of January. He, however, dropped the idea due to the possibility of revolts from partymen.
Speculations are abuzz that Chandrababu Naidu has finalised the first candidate of TDP. It's none other than 'Physics In B.Com' fame Jaleel Khan's Daughter. The YCP MLA who defected to TDP decided against contesting in the upcoming elections citing health issues. He wishes to field his Daughter Shabana Khathur from Vijayawada West Constituency.
Jaleel Khan's Camp claims TDP Leadership has already given green signal to the proposal. If that is true, Shabana will be the first unofficial MLA Candidate of TDP.
Possibility of Jaleel Khan retaining his seat look bleak as the 'Physics in B.Com' comment damaged his image. Fielding Shabana could be a strategic move by the TDP Leadership to give itself a chance.
