Did India Today nixed Rahul Gandhi Interview?

New Delhi is agog with rumours of Rahul Gandhi and Congress biggies trashing Rahul's interview to weekly magazine India Today. Rahul Gandhi gave an interview to India Today's editor Raj Chengappa and deputy editor Saikat Deka. It was an interview to meant for the TV. Rahul replied to a host of questions on NYAY, Rafael and his hugging of Modi. The TV channel announced that Rahul Gandhi's interview would be aired. It also announced the time. But, the interview was never aired.
Why was it spiked? Internal sources from India Today tell us that the request to quash the interview came from Rahul Gandhi and his coterie. Team Rahul felt that this interview too would go down like the interview he gave four years ago to Arnab Goswamy. That one interview ruined Rahul and exposed his shortcomings. This one interview literally forced people to compare Rahul and Modi and the result of it was there for all to see.
A heavily re-worked, highly cosmetised and doctored version of the interview was presented in the print edition of the India Today. Interestingly, the photos show Rahul wearing a lapel mike, something that is used only for TV chats.
