Disha Case Accused Encounter: Arrest & Prosecute!
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 Dec 2019 6:10 AM GMTTelangana High Court passed an order for the preservation of the mortal remains of four accused in the gang-rape and murder of Veterinarian Doctor until December 9th. This direction as given to the concerned authorities after an emergency hearing on Friday evening.
Terming the encounter of four accused in Disha case as extra-judicial killings, Human Rights Organisations and Women's Bodies sought judicial intervention in the whole episode during the representation in the Chief Justice's Office. The beach headed by Chief Justice RS Chauhan will take up this matter on December 9th.
As many as 15 Organisations signed a petition alleging the encounter of Disha Case accused is a clear violation of Supreme Court guidelines. They demanded post-mortem by forensic experts from states other than Telangana and AP. In addition, A request was placed to constitute an Independent Court-monitored Panel for examining the FIRs, Records of Govt Vehicles and Call Data of Cops involved in the encounter. Apart from seeking CBI probe, These Organisations demanded for immediate arrest and prosecution of police personnel involved in the encounter of four accused.
Since Thursday midnight, Police had reconstructed the crime scene by taking the four Accused to the places they visited from the day they gang-raped and murdered the Veterinary Doctor. At around 5 AM, The Accused had thrown stones and snatched guns from two cops in an attempt to escape. In retaliation, Police killed all the four accused at the same spot where Disha was burnt. Bodies of the Accused were shifted to Mahabubnagar Government Hospital for post-mortem. They will remain in the mortuary until further orders from the High Court.
5 Doctors from Gandhi Hospital conducted the autopsy of the four accused in Disha Case. The whole process was videographed and it will be handed over to Mahabubnagar District Judge as per the court order.
