Disproportionate Assets...ACB Court Stuns Babu!
By: Tupaki Desk | 19 Nov 2019 6:56 AM GMTNobody could compete with Chandrababu Naidu when it comes to management skills...that is the reason the TDP Supremo managed to avoid Court cases for so long inspite of amassing Rs 2,000 crore while being in politics though he was the Son of a Farmer who owns 2 acres of land. Finally, The ACB Court issued an order to continue further investigation based on the complaint filed by Lakshmi Parvathi 14 years ago accusing Naidu of amassing illegal assets.
Last year, The Supreme Court made it clear that Stay Period shouldn't be over 6 months in Civil and Criminal Cases. This order from the Apex Court proved costly for the TDP Chief. Lakshmi Parvathi's Counsel informed the ACB Court that no order was passed by the High Court extending the stay after the Supreme Court offered the above direction.
Upon hearing the arguments, ACB Special Court Judge Sambasiva Rao ordered to record the statement of Complainant (Lakshmi Parvathi) apart from offering permission to continue the investigation. Next hearing of the case will be on 25th of November.
In 2005, Lakshmi Parvathi moved a petition in the ACB Special Court accusing Chandrababu Naidu of amassing illegal wealth when he was the Chief Minister of United AP from 1996 to 2004. Following which, Babu filed a Writ Petition in the High Court and obtained Stay. Later, High Court quashed the petition moved by Lakshmi Parvathi seeking lifting of the stay order. At last, The investigation will be resumed as per the latest directions from the ACB Court.
