DMK Chief M Karunanidhi, who served as Tamil Nadu CM for 5 times so far, declared assets to the tune of Rs 13.42 crore in his affidavit submitted while filing the nomination papers for contesting 2016 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections from Tiruvarur constituency.
Interestingly, All of these assets come under movable category. He don't have any immovable assets including residential property or agricultural land.
Karunanidhi have bank deposits of Rs 12.73 crore. He holds shares at Anjugam Printers which are valued at Rs 10.22 lakh. His total income for the financial year 2014-15 stood at Rs 1.21 crore. He have Rs 50,000 cash in hand. He neither owns a house or a car. Karuna's Wife have movable assets of Rs 45.34 crore.
Dayalu Ammal, Karunanidhi's first wife, have bank deposits of Rs 99.67 crore and holds 60 lakh shares in Kalaignar Television Ltd valued at Rs 6 crore. She also have jewellery worth Rs 15.65 lakh and owns 2,520 sq ft of residential property at Tiruvarur.
Rajathi Ammal, Karunanidhi's second wife, have bank deposits of Rs 22.88 lakh and holds 25 lakh shares in Westgate Logistics valued at Rs 2.50 crore. She have jewellery worth Rs 13.98 lakh and owns 9,494 sq ft of residential property at CIT Colony, Chennai. She even obtained loans from banks and financial institutions for Rs 11.94 crore.
