Donald Trump Paid No Income Tax For 10 Of Previous 15 Years
By: Tupaki Desk | 28 Sep 2020 7:53 AM GMTUnited States President Donald Trump paid only $750 in federal income taxes in 2016, the year he won the presidential election.
The New York Times revealed that Trump had paid only $750 as tax in his first year of presidency. "He had paid no income taxes at all in 10 of the previous 15 years - largely because he reported losing much more money than he made," the article revealed.
The newspaper investigated his tax return data for 18 years, and said the President did not pay taxes for 11 of those years. Trump is the first US President since the 1970s not to give his tax returns public, though this is not required by law.
Trump's tax returns have become most discussed point ahead of the upcoming presidential elections in November. However, Trump dismissed claims as fake news.
