In a surprise move, US President Donald Trump lauded India for being the world's largest democracy and also for achieving remarkable growth. He showered praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for successfully bringing the country's people together as one. The Business Tycoon-turned-President opined the growth in Indian economy has been creating lot of opportunities for the middle class.
In a dig at China, Trump slammed the trade practices of the World's most populous nation citing they costed the jobs of Americans. He maintained that America would no longer turn a blind eye to trade abuses.
Donald Trump made these comments during his address at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit of Chief Executives in Vietnam. The comments made by Trump reflect the kind of relations between US-India and US-China. While US considers India as a friend, The Super Power sees China as its competitor.
