Donkey Milk Sells at Rs 6000 per Litre

Believe it or not! The donkey milk is more costly than any premium branded dairy milk.The price of a donkey's milk for liter is Rs. 6,000, in Mancherial mandal of Adilabad district on Wednesday.
The nomadic tribes, who had arrived along with around 80 donkeys, were seen selling the donkey milk in Anaparti. People thronged in large number to purchase the milk. Following the huge demand, the donkey owners promptly increased the price to Rs.6,000 a liter.
The milk of Donkey's is popular in the region as it is believed to be having lots of medicinal values to cure breathing ailments, cold, cough, etc. among the children. This animal's milk should be consumed in empty stomach to cure ailments.
Yellaiah, who selling the animal's milk, said that the donkey's milk is very costly as the animal yields less milk unlike others. He said that the donkey would give only around 200 ml to 250 ml of milk per day in spite of providing good fodder
Since each donkey gives only upto 200 to 250 milliliters of milk, people started paying in advance for the next day's milk.
