Dowry Harassment case on Flipkart co-founder
In what it could be a shocker dowry harassment was filed on Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal, by his wife Priya Bansal. He was also one of the most storied Indian entrepreneurs.
An FIR was filed at the Koramangala Police Station in Bengaluru on Sachin Bansal and his family members for allegedly demanding dowry during the time of the wedding.
Sachin Bansal’s father Sat Prakash Agarwal, brother Nitin Bansal and mother Kiran Bansal were also included in the FIR reportedly.
In her complaint, Priya Bansal alleged that for their wedding her father had spent ₹50 lakh and gave Sachin Bansal ₹11 lakh cash instead of gifting a car. She also said that she was pressurized by her husband to transfer the properties which were on her name to him. As she did not agree to do so her in-laws started harassing her.
"Post wedding, it was decided that it I will stay with my husband. Before the wedding, in-laws visited my home and asked for more dowry. My husband and in-laws have been giving me mental and physical torture since the wedding for dowry. When my sister (name withheld) was in Delhi, Sachin had sexually assaulted her. Sachin had tried to transfer all properties in my name to his name and when I refused, Sachin had physically assaulted me on 20 October 2019. I have been tortured mentally and physically by in-laws for dowry, "alleged FIR read.
