DS Back In Congress Will He Play The king Maker

It is now almost certain that senior politician and TRS Rajya Sabha MP Dharmapuri Srinivas will join the Congress Party. He is likely to formally announce this on Friday. His son and former Nizamabad Mayor Dharmapuri Sanjay too might join the Congress Party. His another son, firebrand MP Dharmapuri Aravind, however, is likely to remain in the BJP.
DS created a flutter on Thursday, when he sought an appointment with AICC chief Sonia Gandhi. The Congress immediately gave him an appointment and DS met Sonia Gandhi at about 6.30 on Thursday evening. Though he has not revealed his mind to the media, Sonia Gandhi summoned TPCC chief Revanth Reddy and other key leaders to Hyderabad. This is being seen as a clear indication that DS would be inducted into the Congress Party.
DS is currently a Rajya Sabha and his term is likely to expire early next year. So, he is also likely to resign from the TRS and the Rajya Sabha. He is said to have told Sonia Gandhi that he would work for the Congress victory in Telangana. He is also said to have assured her that he would advise and guide Revanth Reddy in his campaign for 2024.
DS has served as the PCC chief and a minister twice. As a senior leader, he has considerable clout aong the BCs across Telangana. His joining would be a useful addition to the Congress Party, PCC sources say. He is likely to emerge as a chief strategist of the party ahead of the 2024 elections.
