West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle filed a defamation suit against Fairfax Media for allegedly tarnishing his reputation by reporting that he exposed his penis to the team's female massage therapist Leanne Russell during 2015 ICC ODI World Cup.
As per Fairfax Media, Leanne Russell entered the room to grab a sandwich. Then, Gayle who wore just a towel asked her what she was looking for. She replied, 'I am looking for a towel'. Then, Gayle pulled off his towel a bit and exposed his penis partially before asking if that is what she was looking for.
Another West Indies cricketer Dwayne Smith who came forward to offer evidence in defense of Gayle made it clear any such incident didn't happen. He, however, admits sending a message with the word 'sexy' to Leanne Russell while she was massaging him.
Contrary to the statement of Gayle and Smith, West Indies Team Manager confirms sending an email to the cricketers over their inappropriate behaviour after Leanne Russell burst into tears.
