A moderate earthquake hit Uttarakhand on Monday night at 10.33 PM. Tremors were felt in north India, including Nation's capital New Delhi. People in Punjab and Haryana felt the impact.

Uttarakhand which is located in the Himalayan region is in the high seismic zone. Rudraprayag district in Uttarakhand was the epicenter of the quake. The magnitude of the earthquake is 5.8 on Richter Scale and depth is measured at 33 km.

There was a panic situation in the Northern India as tremors lasted for 30 seconds. People kept running out of their houses to save their lives.

As per early reports, There was neither any loss of life or damage to the property.
