Why Does The EC Loves TRS' Pink Colour?
By: Tupaki Desk | 28 Oct 2018 11:18 AM GMTThe election commission is supposed to be like a neutral umpire and should be utterly unbiased. But, there are objections galore to some of the decisions taken by the EC. For instance, the EC has decided to use pink colour for all the woman polling booths in Telangana. Now, Pink is the colour of the ruling TRS party. The Congress said this would confer advantage on the TRS and the colour would remind the people of the TRS while voting. This is unfair for the other parties, the Congress argued.
Sravan Dasoju, one of the most eloquent word wizard of the Congress party, has highlighted this and sought to know why pink colour was being used for polling booths and ballot papers. He pointed out towards the memo no 1605 issued by the General Administration department showed that the way the polling would be held would be biased. He said that the election commission was trying to favour the ruling TRS and that there was a strong feeling that the elections would not be free and fair. He said there were selective raids on the Opposition leaders and that old cases were being dug out to fix the Congress leaders.
Will Sravan's comments cause an impact on the election commission? Let's wait and see.
