ED Arrests Chidambaram At Tihar Jail

According to the reports, after questioning for two hours at the Tihar Jail, the Enforcement Directorate(ED) officials have arrested former finance minister P. Chidambaram.
He has been in the judicial custody since August 21 st for his rumored involvement in imperfection in allocating the Foreign Investment Promotion Board(FIPB) sanction to INX Media when he was a Finance Minister.
The ED Officials said that he was arrested under the sections of the Prevention Of Money Laundering Act( PMLA) and he will be produced before the court.
According to the Officials, they will ask for the custodial interrogation of the former Finance Minister to questions his innocence with the details they have gathered.
He will also be asked about the money received by the fake shell companies reportedly started by his son.
Reportedly the ED has found out about almost two dozen foreign bank accounts, that were used to save the bribe received for the illegal assistance provided by the Ex-Finance Minister.
They are looking out for the email conversations of the shell companies for which reportedly Chidambaram and his son were the inheritors.
He will also be questioned based on the statements given by 13 witnesses, which includes his private secretary.
He was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the INX media case on August 21 after a high drama of 24 hours. Later, he was sent to the judicial custody from the CBI custody. The CBI court has granted permission to ED to question him in the case
