Amid European Union(EU) member nations following the Green Pass Certification process, the Indian Government on Wednesday had appealed to the EU member nations to exempt the Indians vaccinated with Covaxin and Covershield from the travel ban.

A day after India’s request, EU nations changed their decision as eight nations including Switzerland have announced that those who administered Covishield doses will be given Green Pass, as per the media reports.

It has been widely reported that Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, and Spain announced the decision to bar travelers who received Covishield doses from stopping to enter the nations.

The new development will surely elate passengers who will travel European Union Countries, who had several doubts about their travel. More nations are also expected to change their decision.

As per the media reports, European Country Estonia had also announced that it will permit people from India, those who received the vaccine doses of India and they will be exempted from the travel ban.

The fresh development came at the time when the new Covid Certificate Process Green Pass followed by the European countries will come into effect from July 1st, i.e. today. According to the scheme, people who received the vaccine recognized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) will be barred from the travel ban.

Those who show the Covid Certification will not be asked to follow the quarantine period. The Indian government had requested the nations to bar Indians who produce the vaccine certification issued by the CoWIN portal.
