EC's Shocking Stand On Early Polls

Telangana CM KCR is likely to dissolve Assembly at 6.45 am on Thursday if the media reports are true by any chance. This gave an impression that TRS Leadership might have received green signal from PM Narendra Modi and Chief Election Commission. Much to the shock of TRS Leaders, A Twist has arrived a day before the dissolving of the Assembly.
Telangana State Chief Electoral Officer Rajath Kumar made it clear Early Polls will be conducted based on the decision of Chief Election Commission even if CM dissolves Assembly. 'As of now, We are only focussing on Elections which are going to happen as per the schedule. We have held meetings with representatives of political parties regarding the corrections to be made for voters list. Telangana requires over 84,000 VVPATs and 1.23 lakh ballot units. They were currently being prepared at ECIL. We have come up with new software to eliminate fake voters,' he said.
Even if KCR is keen to go for Early Polls, Nothing can be done if Chief Election Commission makes him wait until early next year.
