The new guidelines of Election Commission of India to keep a check on corrupt practices have been certainly irking the poll candidates and political parties.

Election Commission New Directives:

1) All candidates should have separate bank account for poll campaign related activities.

2) Candidates can't accept Donation or Loan in excess of Rs 20,000 in cash.

3) All the Donations should be either through crossed account payee cheque or bank draft.

4) Political Parties should make payments to its candidates only by account transfer, instead of in cash.

5) Cost incurred by vehicles used in Campaigning will be added to poll expenditure of the Candidate.

In 2014 General Elections, EC seized Rs 275 crore in cash and found that several candidates had under-reported their poll expenditure. Hence, New guidelines have been introduced and they will be implemented from upcoming Bihar Assembly polls.
