By: Tupaki Desk | 31 March 2017 7:58 AM GMTElection Commission is of the view that Poll Predictions aired on TV Channels during the period when Exit Polls are prohibited have been influencing the Voters. So, Measures have been taken to stop this from happening.
The other day, Election Commission directed Print & Electronic Media not to publish and telecast any kind of Poll Predictions. This include the predictions of Political Analysts, Astrologers and Tarot Readers.
As per Section 126A of the Representation of the People Act, Neither Exit Polls should be conducted nor aired/published.
These days, All the leading Political Parties have been relying more on Media to influence the voters. Hence, The new move by EC is a good sign.
