EC Watchful Of Post-Dated Cheques In AP
By: Tupaki Desk | 13 Feb 2019 4:33 AM GMTTDP Government offered Post-Dated Cheques to DWAKRA Women as part of the implementation of Pasupu-Kunkuma Scheme. Each Woman in the Self-Help Groups were promised Rs 10,000 under this scheme but only 1/3rd of the amount will be paid as of now. Two Post-Dated Cheques were offered for the balance amount.
Ruling Party Leaders have been assuring to the DWAKRA Women that they would receive the total amount if they vote for TDP in the upcoming polls. Some of the Leaders were prompting Women to take a pledge that their vote will be for Telugu Desam Party.
Very soon, Farmers of AP could be receiving such post-dated cheques under the -'Annadatha Sukhibava' scheme. There is also a possibility of issuing post-dated cheques for 5th Instalment of Farm Loan Waiver which was promised during 2014 Polls. All of these activities are planned to retain power with the upcoming elections.
Political Parties complained to the Election Commission about the tactics of Ruling Party to influence the voters. EC shifted the focus towards post-dated cheques in Andhra Pradesh at the moment. Will it impose any restrictions on the State Government?
