Election Results: Congress Not To Send Spokespersons To TV Debates

The Congress Party has taken a shocking decision not to send any of its media spokespersons to the TV channel discussions on Thursday, the day when the results of the elections to the two states Haryana and Maharashtra are declared. The party asked all its spokespersons not to go to any TV channel. This unprecedented decision was taken amid reports that the party is going to face complete rout in both the states, which went to polls on October 21.
This is perhaps for the first time that the Congress Party has taken such a decision. So, Thursday's TV debates on election results will not have anyone defending the Congress Party's viewpoint. A decision to this effect was taken on Wednesday.
The psephologists are predicting that the BJP will make a clean sweep of both Maharashtra and Haryana leaving very little for the Congress in both the states. In both the states, the BJP is expected to win two thirds majority, according to most of the post-poll surveys. So, even as India hotly debates the election results, the Congress spokespersons will relax and watch TV sipping some hot coffee.
