Jagan Effect: EC To Appoint New DGP For AP?

As per the media reports, Election Commission is likely to appoint New DGP soon after the issuance of notification for 2019 Elections. This is a crucial measure to conduct free and fair elections.
Last month, YS Jaganmohan Reddy complained to the Election Commission of India against AP DGP RP Thakur for allegedly taking Pro-TDP Stand. YCP also complained against AP Intelligence Chief AB Venkateswara Rao and Coordination Officer Ghattamaneni Srinivas.
Election Commission is now considering few names for replacing RP Thakur. Vigilance DG Gautam Sawang who served as Vijayawada Commissioner in the past is the front-runner. He might be serving as In-Charge DGP until the completion of 2019 Elections.
In 2009, EC replaced AP DGP Ramavathar Yadav with Mahanti for the sake of elections. YS Rajasekhar Reddy appointed Ramavathar Yadav as DGP again after retaining power.
