End Of Debate Of Early Elections In Andhra Pradesh Now?
By: Tupaki Desk | 5 Jun 2023 9:47 PM ISTThe political heat in Andhra Pradesh was increased with reports of possible early elections. As per the schedule, the elections are to be held next year. But there is a debate that the elections might be preponed and the state might see early elections.
It all started with Jagan's Delhi tour. Adding fuel to this, the opposition parties intensified their efforts in attracting the people. While TDP announced its manifesto, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan announced a bus yatra despite having a few films in his hand. The Andhra Pradesh wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party also announced a few activities.
All these factors gave birth to the reports of possible early elections in the state. However, as an end to the debate of early elections in the state, a senior Cabinet Minister rubbished the reports and said that there is no truth in this and the elections in the state will be held as per the schedule.
Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said that there is no truth in the reports of early elections and they are just speculations. He said that elections will be held as per the schedule and MLA and MP elections will be held at the same time.
The Andhra Pradesh Minister for Electricity, Forests, and Underground Mines drew a comparison between YCP and TDP and said that YCP is very strong at the root level and hence it doesn't need anyone's help to win the elections, unlike Telugu Desam Party which needs two to three parties to win the polls.
What Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said cannot be seen lightly and his comments have some weightage. He is not only a senior cabinet minister in the state, but also close to CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, and hence his comments cannot be seen casually.
There are a few leaders in the YSRCP who are close to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy is among them. We can say that there would be no early elections in the state as of now and this would be the case unless we see any announcement from the ruling party.
