The suspense is finally over. Long March-5B rocket, which was blasted off from China's new space station into Earth orbit earlier in late April, crashed near the Maldives on Sunday Morning.

In a statement, the China Manned Space Engineering Office said, the wreckage of the Long March 5B Yao-2 launch vehicle has re-entered the atmosphere near the Maldives.

"After monitoring and analysis, at 10:24 (0224 GMT) on May 9, 2021, the last-stage wreckage of the Long March 5B Yao-2 launch vehicle has re-entered the atmosphere," the statement reads.

After the news of China's rocket getting out of control broke out, the US space agency NASA and other experts became critical of the Dragon country and accused the country of behaving irresponsibly.

Contrary to the allegations, China said there will not be much risk involved in the rocket row. Most of the segment disintegrated and was destroyed during descent, the dragon country said.

Space monitoring agency Space-Track that uses the US military data to carry out the monitoring services has also confirmed that China's rocket crashed into the Indian Ocean near the Maldives.
