End of Vijayamma's Chapter: No posters at Plenary

The plenary of the YSRCP has established the complete control of YS Jagan over the party. It was all the way a YS Jagan show. His shadow loomed large over the plenary and he rode like a colossus. It was a well-attended show and the party cadres turned up in unprecedented numbers. The enthusiasm was palpable as this was the first plenary in five years and also the first plenary after the party came to power.
Though YS Vijayamma was still the honorary president of the party at the beginning of the plenary, it was significant that there was not a single poster of her anywhere at the plenary venue. Her photograph was not there as a backdrop in the dais.
Both YS Vijayamma and YS Sharmila still have some support at the ground level. Several ground level leaders have been paying obeisance to them even now. In fact, after becoming a minister, RK Roja went to Hyderabad to seek the blessings of YS Vijayamma. But, YS Jagan ensured that no one in the party spoke about either YS Sharmila or YS Vijayamma at the plenary.
Over the last three years, YS Jagan has ensured that he and he alone is regarded as the sole leader of the party. It is being said that he has refused to honour recommendations for nominated posts sent by both Vijayamma and Sharmila. By doing this, he has sent clear signals that he is the sole authority in the party.
