It's been around four years since Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara scored a ton. Though he has been making valuable contributions to the team, he could not make a century. The stylish player put an end to the long drought in style by smashing the fastest century in his career in the ongoing Test series.

In the test match against Bangladesh, Pujara scored a century. In just 130 deliveries, the right-handed batsman scored 102 runs and remained unbeaten. His sensational innings included 13 boundaries. In the first innings, he came close to scoring a century and got out on 90.

Pujara did not leave any bowler and punished every bad delivery. His century put India in a good position and the innings were declared. Shubman Gill also scored a century. The two players stitched a key partnership of 254 runs. This took the total leader to over 500 runs and captain KL Rahul declared the innings.

Pujara scored a century back in 2019 when India toured Australiafor the Border Gavaskar trophy. Chateshwar Pujara made valuable contributions to the team in winning the trophy and he scored 600 runs including three tons. He also scored a double-century. Virat Kohli was the skipper of the team and India defeated Australia to lift the trophy. The trophy win was the first Test series win against Australia in Australia. It took over three years for Pujara to score a century again.

Talking about the ongoing match, India was bowled out for 404 in the first innings. In response, India bowled the Bangladesh team for a mere 150. In the second innings, India scored 258 runs for the loss of two wickets. Bangladesh needs 513 runs to win and the team scored 42 without any loss.
