You might be thinking he did enter into politics, the day he announced his nomination for RK Nagar bi-election. Bit he did not announce any party then and did not join any party even afterwards as well.
But now the actor made it clear in a nee press interaction that he wants to enter into politics. He said, "Once Government announces the local body elections, I will announce my decision. They have been postponing them for 18 months now. That would be the right moment to announce my decision."
He then asked Kamal Haasan and Rajnikanth to voice Tamil farmers problems due to lack of Cauvery river water. He said, "I welcome Industry bigwigs like Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan coming into politics. But first they should demand Karnataka Government to act reasonably in Cauvery water issue. They have such popularity that people will listen to them. As it is a delicate issue and mainly neglected by government, they should start from there, I feel."
He then asked Government to take good care of cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu, that is, Temples. He said that the Government should see that incidents like Madurai fire accident in Meenakshi Amman Temple shouldn't repeat in future.
He finally said, "Tamil Nadu people have made me a popular actor. Many film actors to do good for public are coming into politics and me entering into politics, should not be a big issue as I am willing to do anything for people's welfare. "
