Even MLAs Did Not Enroll Themselves as Graduate voters
By: Tupaki Desk | 12 March 2021 3:28 AM GMTDespite the high voltage campaign, the graduate constituency elections seem to be getting a lukewarm response. It's not just the general voters, even the MLAs seem to be uninterested. Come to think of it, three of the seven eligible MLAs in Warangal have not even bothered to register themselves as voters for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduate Constituency MLC elections.
Consider this. There are 12 MLAs in Warangal district. Of them, seven are graduates and are eligible to register themselves as voters. Station Ghanpur MLA Dr Rajaiah is a medical doctor. Similarly, Dasyam Vinayabhaskar is also a graduate. Mahabubabad MLA Banoth Shankar Naik too is a BTech Graduate. Mulug MLA Dhansari Anasuya too is a graduate. All these four have enrolled themselves as voters for the graduate elections.
However, three other eligible MLAs – Challa Dharma Reddy, Aroori Ramesh and Redya Naik are graduates. But, they did not enroll themselves as voters. So, they would not be able to cast their vote this time. The affidavits of these three MLAs – filed at the time of 2018 elections, show that they are graduates. Interestingly, two ministers from the district Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Satyavathi Rathod are not graduates and are thus ineligible to vote.
