Ex-MLA Does Not Get Membership Books, Resigns Party
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 July 2019 4:16 AM GMTHe was once the face of the TRS in the coal belt. He has won as an MLA even when the TRS was not in power. The party made him the chairperson of the Telangana Road Transport Corporation. But, today, Somarapu Satyanarayana feels he is not wanted in the TRS. He feels he has no role in the party. So, he sent his resignation from the party. As many as 35 key supporters of Somarapu have also resigned from the party.
Somarapu had hit the headlines a year-and-a-half ago, when his supporters were not given positions of importance. He faxed his resignations and withdrew only after cajoling by the party bosses. But, he was not given the party ticket during the 2018 assembly elections. After that, his importance waned so fast that his supporters and followers were sidelined and could not find place in the committees. The party did not give him any membership books. As a result, he has no role whatsoever in the current membership drive, which the party is taking up so prestigiously.
Upset with all this, Somarapu has sent his resignation letter to party working president KTR. He said he can no longer continue in the party which does not respect him and honour him for the role he has played in the struggle for the separate Telangana state. He is likely to join the BJP soon.
