Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project: Good News For AP

Ministry of environmental and forest committee which held a meeting over the much talked about Rayalaseema Lift Scheme (RLS) through video conference ruled out in the favour of Andhra Pradesh.
Upon discussing various issues and aspects, the Ministry of environmental and forest committee made it clear there is no need for the AP government to seek permission from the National Green Tribunal(NGT) to go ahead with the project.
The latest development took place after the Telanagana government filed a special leave petition on the Rayalaseema Lift Scheme (RLS) that was proposed by the fellow Telugu state Andhra Pradesh. The petition was filed by the TS government the other day.
Ministry of environmental and forest committee issued orders which state that the rule of seeking clearance certification from the NGT is not required for the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation project.
The members of the Ministry of environmental and forest committee comprises of members from the Government of India and members from both the Telugu states.
Taking into considerations all the major twists and turns that took place in regard to this project, this new development can be cited as a major win for the Andhra Pradesh government.
