Experts Predict "Worst Of The Pandemic" Yet To Come For US
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 Nov 2020 4:47 AM GMTThe coronavirus infections in several countries have gradually decreased in recent months and the recovery rate has been climbing simultaneously. The United States, however, has been in the top of worst infected countries in the world.
Now, the experts have expressed that the country is ill-prepared for the incoming cold season and holidays. As per reports, the deadly virus could spiral into its deadly phase during the holidays as the country is heading into a fall holiday season.
Apart from having a strong strategy to curb the virus, Trump's administration miserably failed to tackle the situation, which has taken more than 230,000 lives of Americans. As per the reports, Washington's strategy toward the pandemic boils down to one word, "hope".
"The strategy, if you can summarize in one word, is hope,' said Dr Carlos del Rio, executive associate dean of the Emory School of Medicine and Grady Health System in Georgia. 'And hope is not a strategy."
"We are heading into the very worst of the pandemic right now. The degree of spread of this infection and its toll on our country is going to be, to a large extent, determined by what happens in the next two months," said Dr Megan Ranney, an emergency room doctor at Brown University.
The experts have predicted that the United States could see 200,000 cases a day by Thanksgiving if the people fail to follow the social distancing and implementation of face masks.
As of now, the US coronavirus tally has topped 9,944,000, with over 237,400 deaths as of Sunday afternoon.
